Akureyri Harbor

A competition for planning a district on an historical harbor site in Akureyri.

The proposal creates a linear walk connecting the area to the cultural centre of Akureyri called Hof.
There are five houses along the walk have A-shaped roofs and are rendered in different color, referencing the historic fishing huts in Iceland. The position of the houses create sheltered and intimate pedestrian streets who can host open air markets and events.
At the end of the bay sits more of a modern food market with a flexible structure open for all kinds of activities.
