Kindergarten

A competition proposal for a kindergarten in Seltjarnarnes, Reykjavík.
It’s placed on the corner of the plot where it opens up towards the south, protecting the children
from the heavy weathers of the north direction and celebrating the warm breeze of the south. Therefore, the north facade appears rather heavy where windows
have been punctuated from the exposed concrete rather randomly while
the north facade opens up, almost as a scaffolding structure. The first floors roof is then extended, creating a playground on the second floor as well as functioning as a shelter for the first floor.

The main materials are exposed concrete, rendered with the form-work of timber planks, and messing.
