rUNNERS SPACE
1:1 Installation
The task was to design a structure for padestrians in a Öskjuhlíð park in Reykjavík. Our subject were runners. We made diagrams that descriped interaction between the runners movement, his space and the environment. Secondly, we diagrammed the diversity between the different running routs. What when then tried to do was to develop a diagram into a structure. We situated our structure between two clearings where the structure sort of connected the clearings together. For us, the gap between the clearings symbolized the runners breathing space and the change of his pace. So the structure expands in the middle, enhancing the gap or the opening at that very specific situation.
The structure is made of used construction timber and ropes.
